Obituary:  Anna Viola Ruppel (1930 – 2017)

Anna Viola Ruppel passed away Wednesday, 26 April 2017 at the age of 86.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Frank Wall Ruppel.

Anna is well remembered for the loving care she gave her family, friends and neighbors, for her bigger than life energy, her laughter, fun loving nature and positive attitude.  She danced at weddings, played with the children, cooked massive amounts of food and hugged family and friends at all special occasions or simply every day.  She was a giving person, crocheting hats for soldiers, cancer patients, infants, plus family and friends.  She crocheted blankets for veterans, newborns, family and friends not to mention the hundreds of doilies given as gifts.  Anna gave many tangible and intangible gifts; the largest being love.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Marie Skonieczny and husband Jerome, granddaughter Ann Marie Mix and husband Dennis, great granddaughter, Samantha; granddaughter Barbara Joanne Stokes, husband Scott, great grandsons: Christopher, Nicholaus and John; grandson Steven Michael Skonieczny and wife Jessica, great grandsons:  Caden and Owen plus great granddaughter Abby.  All from Alabama.

Other survivors include her son, Frank Wall Ruppel Jr. of Water Mill, daughter Judy Louise Phillips and husband Stephen; grandson Stephen Francis Phillips Jr. and wife Christine, great granddaughters:  Chloe and Cassidy; plus grandson Jesse John Phillips and wife Alicia, residents of Southampton.  From Massapequa, grandson Mark Roderick Phillips and wife Lauren, plus great grandson Mark and great granddaughter Alexis.

The Anna Ruppel family would like to thank all that attended the celebration of Anna’s life during visitations at O’Connell Funeral Home and during the service at the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Bridgehampton plus those who held Anna and the family in their heart.
