Barbara E. NikolichBarbara Nikolich of Southampton, New York, died on Monday, December 26, at Southampton Hospital. She was 86,Born June 30, 1925, in Sag Harbor, New York, to Emil and Antoinette Norsic, she moved to Southampton with her family in 1932.Barbara was a 1942 graduate of Southampton High School and a 1943 graduate of the Drake School of Business in Jamaica, New York.She was a violinist, french horn player and choral vocalist while at Southampton High. She also played the piano. Barbara joined the choir at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Roman Catholic Church in 1941 and remained an active member for over 60 years. She also sang with the Choral Society of the Hamptons for many years. She was an active member in the Columbiettes, the women's auxiliary association of the Knights of Columbus, for over 50 years having served in various official capacities including District Deputy. Barbara and her husband were long standing members of the Quarterbackers in support of Southampton Hospital where she also volunteered for many years in the snack bar.Barbara is survived by her husband, Peter C. Nikolich of Southampton, two sons, Peter E. Nikolich and his wife, Maureen, of Simpsonville South Carolina, Robert G. Nikolich and his wife, Chris, of Riverhead New York; siblings Emil Norsic and his wife, Anna, of Southampton, and Francis Sims also of Southampton; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Maryann Grisnik and a grandson, Brian Nikolich.Visitation will take place at O'Connell Funeral Home on Thursday, December 29. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00AM at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Roman Catholic Church in Southampton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary church would be appreciated by the family.
