Gloria Simpson Talmage died on March 16, 2019, in Port St. Lucie Florida.


Born on May 5, 1928 in New York City to Walter H. and Florence Trenkle Simpson.


She graduated from Bridgehampton High School in 1946.


She married Albert Richard Talmage on August 29, 1948. They were married for 68 years until Albert’s death in 2016.


They lived in Bridgehampton New York until health prevented them from being snowbirds and they stayed in Florida full time.


Gloria worked as office manager for the Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealership on Hill Street in Southampton for just under 40 years. First, Lester Motors, then Santacroce Motors, and then Hull Chevrolet-Olds. Inc.


Gloria was pre-deceased by her husband Albert Talmage. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Steudte and her husband Harald Steudte from Southampton, New York.


A granddaughter Jennifer Parendo and her husband Dr. Keith Parendo of Babylon New York. A grandson Benjamin Steudte from Hampton Bays, New York. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Joseph, Charlotte and Michael Parendo and Kennedy Steudte. Her brother Walter J. Simpson predeceased her in 1979. She was also pre-deceased by her parents and her step-mother Marion Simpson.


A wake was held on Wednesday March 20, 2019 at the O’Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home in Southampton, New York.

A Mass of Christian Burial was on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary in Bridgehampton, New York.


Interment at the Edgewood Cemetery in Bridgehampton, New York.


In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The First Tee, 425 South Legacy Trail St. Augustine, Florida 32092. The First Tee is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to kids and teens, or the Bridgehampton Fire Department Ambulance Company.
