Keith Gerard LeClerc of Southampton passed away unexpectedly on March 3rd in his home at

391 North Main Street. He was 58 years old.  Keith was born in the Southampton Hospital September 26, 1957 to Guy and Margaret Moylan LeClerc.  He is survived by his parents and siblings, his sister, Andrea and husband Robert McKeefrey of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, sister Maria and her husband Robert Johns of Sebastian, FL, brother Brian LeClerc of Hampton Bays and brother Michael and his wife Karen of Southampton.  He is also survived by his nephews Jason Johns, Ryan McKeefrey, Sean McKeefrey, Joshua LeClerc and niece and goddaughter, Cara McKeefrey Kul.


After graduating from Southampton High School in 1975 Keith entered the U.S. Navy. He served our country on the USS Savannah, AOR-4 for four years and was honorably discharged in 1979.  While in the Navy he was a member of a band known as the AOR – 4 and when he returned home to Southampton he continued to play in several bands.  He eventually established his business, Image Window Cleaning.

Keith loved music, was a gifted artist, and enjoyed playing golf and darts. He was a devoted son, beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend and a passionate supporter of Veterans.  Dave Rigney, a fellow shipmate and good friend from the USS Savannah said, “He was an awesome sailor and gunner’s mate and served his country faithfully.”

Services honoring and celebrating Keith’s life will be as follows: Wake,  Sunday, March 13th at O’Connell Funeral Home, 30 Little Plains Road, Southampton, NY 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.   Funeral, Monday,

March 14th, 11:00 AM,  at O’Connell Funeral Home.  Will proceed to Calverton Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY, for military burial.

 In lieu of flowers Keith’s family requests donations to be made in his name and memory to the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768.
