Age:   90

Irene R. Stachecki, Formerly of Water Mill, passed away at the age of 90 on January 21 2016. Irene  was raised in Garden City Park where she met her future husband, Walter Stachecki upon his return from military service. They married in 1948 and moved to Walter's home town of Southampton. They ultimately settled in Water Mill.
Mrs. Stachecki assisted her husband in his potato packing business and subsequently their family vegetable farm. As an Active Mom, she served as a brownie and 4-H leader and was involved in the Home Extension Service.
Irene was a loving mother to her children. Nothing gave her more happiness than spending time with her family. Recently, she had the wonderful experience of having her entire family present at her 90th birthday. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
She spent the last years of her life living in Vermont with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a good and kind woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Irene is predeceased by her husband, Walter B. Stachecki. She is survived by her children Chris Johannesen of Mahwah, NJ, Cindy Andrews and her husband Doug of Chittenden, Vermont, Caren Maynard and her partner Jeff Marsh of Concord, NH, and Walter and his wife Lori of Sag Harbor, NY: her grandchildren Katie Magri, Craig and Erin Johannesen, Chad and Amanda Andrews, Christopher Andrews, Brina Stachecki and Devan Stachecki; and great-grandchildren Chas Magri and Owen, Harper, and Ellie Johannesen.
