Susan Mary Zakaluk, age 76 of Southampton, passed away on September 30, 2024. Loving daughter of Stephen Wolodimir Zakaluk and Clara Mary Zakaluk (nee Boekhoff), sister of Carol and Stephen, aunt of Annabelle. She was a lifelong educator—teacher, administrator, and then Director of Mathematics for the NYC Board of Education. She also taught Mathematics Instructional Methods at NYU, Hunter College, CCNY and The Bank Street School.  She drew great joy from fine arts of all kinds and from the theater.  After retirement, she pursued painting and sculpture at The Art Students League. For years an avid Mets fan, she deciphered every game as though she managed the team.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at O'Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home, located at 30 Little Plains Road, Southampton NY. Friends and family members are invited to share their fond memories and stories of Susan on Saturday, October 12, from 10:00 -11:00 AM at O'Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM at Southampton Cemetery, Southampton, NY.
