Age: 76

Ronald G. Peterson of Southampton died on June 24,2013 at Stoneybrook University Hospital. He was 76. Born May 10,1937 in Southampton to Roy G. Peterson and Edna Peterson he graduated from Southampton High School in1955, and The State University at Farmingdale in 1957. After serving in the Navy from l957-1961(USS Elokomin and USS Amphion), he attended The State University at Fredonia and graduated in 1966. On June 19,1965 he married Barbara Murn Peterson. Mr. Peterson taught Earth Science and General Science at Southampton High School and coached the Golf Team. He enjoyed very much boating, fishing, and reading. He was a charter member of the Bull Head Yacht Club. In addition to his wife, Mr. Peterson is survived by his daughter, Nancy Ellen of East Quogue, his
brother David Peterson of Southampton, his sisters Sandra Watson of Watermill, and Barbara Hinck of Shelton, Wa. He is survived by many other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the O'Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. Memorial donations may be made to Peconic Baykeeper, P.O. Box 893, Quogue, N.Y. 11959, or to The Salvation Army.
