Robert Clinton Butler
Age: 66 Saugerties, New York
Robert Clinton Butler died on September 30th, 2010 in Stony Brook, New York. He was born in Yonkers on May 13, 1944; a son of the late Robert C. Butler, Sr. and Gaynell McInerney. He grew up in Dobbs Ferry and Ossining, New York before moving to Mahopac and Saugerties later in life. He went to college at Pace University and University of Colorado. He became a mechanic and a school bus driver for the Mahopac Central School Systems where he retired from and moved to Saugerties to enjoy the upstate New York lifestyle.
Robert was always a free thinker, philosopher, and story teller that experienced life to the fullest. He was involved in the music scene of the sixties by traveling and managing bands while touring across country. His interests and passions included fishing, hunting, and cars. He built his first engine at age 11 and loved drag racing later on. Bob was a decorated veteran who served his country in the Army during Vietnam War from the years 1968 to 1970 fighting for our freedom.
He is survived by a daughter, Brandy Butler Malo and husband Brent Goger Malo of Palm City, Florida and Southampton, New York, a stepson, Gilbert V.B. Long, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, New York; a stepdaughter, Stacy A.C. Connolly and husband Donald Connolly of Yorktown, New York.
In memory of Bob, we will be holding a memorial service at the Kolping - On-Hudson at 95 Montrose Point Road in Montrose, New York on October 15th, 2010 at 3:30 P.M. In Bobs honor, an act of kindness can be expressed in his honor of a donation may be made to any veterans charity of your choice.
