Peter Bartlett Campbell

Peter Bartlett Campbell died unexpectedly from natural causes at his home in Orient, Long Island on March 8th, 2023. He was 56 years old.
Mr. Campbell was born in New York City on October 25th, 1966 to Samuel Robert Campbell and Camille Rogers Campbell.  He attended the Buckley School (‘82), Milton Academy (‘85), and the University of Wisconsin–Madison (’89). He was a Managing Director at Brean Capital, where he had a long and successful career trading fixed income securities.
He was widely travelled and well read, with an extensive knowledge of such subjects as military history, English rugby, gastronomy, and British art rock. He had a great gift for friendship and was much loved for his wry humor, his sense of fun, his generosity of spirit, and his steadfast loyalty. Most of all he was a devoted family man.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Heather Hodson Campbell, and their children Samuel Dashiell Campbell and Clementine Gillian Campbell; his sister Camille Westervelt (Dirck) of Narragansett, RI; and brother John Palmer Campbell (Lisa) of Nashville, TN; his brothers-in-law James Hodson of London, England; and Andrew Hodson (Lucy) of Hurstpierpoint, England. He is also survived by many first cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on March 17th at 4 pm at Grace Church, 254 Hicks Street, Brooklyn Heights, New York, to be followed by a reception at The Heights Casino, 75 Montague Street, Brooklyn Heights. A private family graveside committal at the family plot in Southampton New York will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kings County Tennis League, a not-for-profit youth development program for children living in and around public housing in Brooklyn (1 Dock 72 Way, 7th Floor, Brooklyn, New York 11205; Kingscountytennisleague.org).
