Pauline M. Garbowski

Pauline M. Garbowski of Southampton died on Sunday, September 11, 2011. She was 79. Known as "Mushy" to her family and "Bam" to her grandchildren, Pauline was born to Regina (Fortuna) Kromer and Daniel Kromer in her home on North Magee St. and lived there her whole life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael Garbowski of Sag Harbor, and six siblings; sisters Olga Lachcik, Katherine Herman, Stella Pietronowicz, and brothers Al Pietronowicz, Victor Kromer, and Andrew Pietronowicz.

She is survived by her daughters Michelle Dosch and Laura Keenan, both of Southampton, their husbands Peter and Michael, and her two grandchildren Samantha and Joe Dosch. She is also survived by her brother Pete Kromer of Amagansett and many nieces and nephews.

Pauline and her husband Mike were married for 47 years. They worked together at the Bulova Watch Co. in Sag Harbor for over 30 years. Her most recent employment was at the Southampton Hospital as a food service worker until her retirement.

Pauline loved her family dearly and was loved by all who knew her for her kindness and concern for others. A member of Our Lady of the Hamptons Church, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family's needs in front of her own.
Visitation will be held for 79 year old Southampton resident Pauline M. Garbowski on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O'Connell Funeral Home located at 30 Little Plains Rd in Southampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Poland RC Church in Southampton. Interment will follow at Sacred Hearts RC Cemetery in Southampton
