Patricia Polakiewicz, affectionately known as Patty (Pat), passed away on July 25,
2025, at The Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Westhampton Beach, NY, at the age of
76. Born on February 24, 1949, in Newport, RI, Patty lived a life filled with warmth,
friendship, and dedication.
Patty spent the majority of her professional life with S.H.W. & S. Land Surveyors in
Southampton, NY. Though she often joked about how busy she was, it was clear to
all who knew her that she deeply loved her work and the people she worked
alongside. Her decision to retire was not an easy one – a testament to the strong
bonds and sense of purpose she found in her career.
Beyond her professional life, Patty cultivated many friendships and connections that
brought joy and meaning to her days. She shared a special journey with her friends
and stepfamily, the Ribeiro’s. Together they created cherished memories through
annual ski trips to New Hampshire and countless holidays and events. Traveling
with friends was one of Patty’s great joys, and she made it a priority to stay
connected with those who meant so much to her.
Thirty-five years ago, Patty purchased a home in North Sea – a place she lovingly
transformed into what many considered the most charming house in the
neighborhood. Her pride in her home was matched only by the affection she held
for her neighbors. Over the years, she built lasting friendships with the
neighborhood and became a beloved presence on her street.
Patty’s compassion and love left an indelible mark on those around her. Her passing
leaves a profound void in the hearts of her friends and neighbors whose lives were
brightened by her kindness and spirit. May Patty’s memory bring comfort to all who
knew and loved her.
At Patty’s request, no formal service will be held.
