Michael R. Kosciusko of Southampton died on July 1st from complications following surgery. He was 79.

Born in Calverton, New York to Michael and Mary Marsh Kosciusko on July 27th, 1931, he was raised in Riverhead and graduated from Riverhead High School.

After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he was employed by LILCO for 44 years before retiring.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Mary Mojeski. He leaves two sons, Michael and his wife Kathleen and their three daughters of Manhasset, New York and John and his wife Claudia and their son and daughter of Southampton. He also leaves a sister, Barbara Kulesa, of Smithtown, New York.

A memorial mass was held at Our Lady of Poland Catholic Church on July 6th. His ashes were interred at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the O'Connell Funeral Home.
