Mary Jo Condren passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, at the age of 83 in Rye, NY. A longtime resident of New York, NY, Southampton, NY and Palm Beach, FL. she was born on August 28, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY, to Anthony and Josephine Marra. Her family later moved to Brookville, NY where Mary Jo resided until her marriage to William J. Condren in 1969. In 2013, she moved to The Osborn in Rye, NY after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. 

Mary Jo was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother who will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and sense of fun. She found joy in being a homemaker, dedicating her life to creating a comfortable and nurturing environment for family and friends.  

She was an active person, who in her free time enjoyed many activities including golf, tennis, water sports, horseback riding, gardening, reading and travel. As a naturally competitive person who welcomed challenges, these pursuits were the source of many friendships and much happiness for MaryJo over the years. 

Mary Jo is survived by her children, Jennifer, Elizabeth, and Colin, and grandchildren, Liam, Brooke, Camille, and Amelia. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill. 

A funeral mass will be held at the Basilica Parish of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary on Wednesday February 7th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (www.alzfdn.org) in Mary Jo's memory. 

The O'Connell-Rothwell funeral home in Southampton, NY, is assisting the family with arrangements.
