Born March 17, 1936, Lois was an painter, jeweler and sculpture. She was part of the original artist movement in SoHo, New York.
She would work in her loft on Broome Street. Her painting style was abstract: oversized canvases in bright, beautiful colors.
She had a store on Carmine St, "Bus Stop Faces West". Her gallery on Broome St. Here she would showcase her art, jewelry and sculpture. Her art was shown at many New York galleries: Vorpal, Una Bare Gallery, Nemisis II, Arthur Bronner Gallery, and Phantom Forum. Her work was described as radiant and ethereal.
Lois' jewelry and clothing designes have been in the Gallery of Wearable Art, Reminiscence and Henri Bendel.
She is survived by her sister Penelope Rosenberg, her two sons, Justin and Zachary Tunick, their wives Shari and Nicole and three grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 31st at Oakland Cemetery in Sag Harbor. Arrangements were entrusted to the O'Connell Funeral Home in Southampton, NY.
Funeral services for 75 year old former East Hampton and current Southampton Village resident Lois Beth Tunick will be held on Thursday, March 31st. Friends may gather at the O'Connell Funeral Home located at 30 Little Plains Rd in Southampton on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 PM. A procession will leave O'Connell Funeral Home shortly after for a Graveside service at 2:00 PM at Oakland Cemetery in Sag Harbor.
