Kenneth Elliott Navan
February 8, 1937 – April 27, 2020
Kenneth Navan, known as “Mr. Navan” for over 30 years at the Southampton Intermediate School, passed away April 27, 2020.
He leaves behind wife Debra Peters, three sons, John (Jacqueline), James (Arron), and Kenny (Kara), two “gained daughters,” Johana and Leena, and 10 grandchildren, Connor, James, Taylor, Jason, Johnny, Jacqueline, Kristen, Nicole, Julia, and Kayla. He was predeceased in 2005 by his wife of 44 years, Ann Navan.
Ken was very active in the community enjoying the company of the members of the North Sea Fire Department, Pistol Club, Bull Head Yacht Club and numerous tennis clubs.
During his tenure at SIS he established the Computer Science program and soccer team. He was also proud to educate the children of his prior students. His true passion was helping students with non-academic challenges using unique, individualized methods and of course room 105.
Ken passed peacefully at home in Delray Beach with wife Debbie by his side after 10 years together snow birding and playing tennis 12 months a year.
Service arrangements will be scheduled mid-summer in Southampton post pandemic.
To benefit the youth of Southampton, donations may be made to Southampton Youth Services (SYS) preferably earmarked for soccer or tennis programs, two of Ken’s passions.
