Joseph P. Andrews, Jr. died on April 6, 2020 after a 4 year battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s at the Kanas Hospice Center in Westhampton Beach. He was 75. He was born to Joseph & Helen (Grzybowski) Andrews, Sr. on January 31, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY. He was raised in Bridgehampton & Southampton. He graduated from Mercy Catholic High School in Riverhead. He served in the US Air Force from 1965 to 1969. He was a bartender at Southampton Polish Hall for many years, owned Knoll’s Tavern for ten years, then worked for Southampton Public Schools as a groundskeeper and custodian until his retirement. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Richard. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan Miller Andrews, his son, Joseph, III & wife Lindsay and daughter Lauren Granger & husband Matthew Granger and grandaughter Gwen Granger. He is also survived by his sister, Lorraine Stachecki (Chuck), brother, Thomas Andrews (Tracy) all of Southampton, plus many nieces and cousins. Due to the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, the family ask that friends and loved-ones honor the government’s request to keep social distance. Once the Pandemic is over, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to either Our Lady of Poland RC Church or East End Hospice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the O’Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home in Southampton.
