George Otis Reister, age 79 of Southampton NY passed away on October 18, 2019 George was born in Southampton to Lawrence and Esther (Brown) Reister on September 3, 1940.
 
He was a proud veteran of the US Army and a 35 year member of the Southampton Fire Department serving as Captain of the Agawan Hose Co.
 
George is survived by his beloved wife Halina (Laskowski) of 54 Years. Sons John (Melinda), James (Patricia) and the late Andrew (Stacey). He is also survived by his sister Jean Berardi (Ralph) and was pre-deceased by his brother Lawrence Reister. George was a cherished grandfather of Nathaniel, Benjamin, Sophie, David, Mary, Riley and Brody. He is also survived by his niece Eileen, nephews Brian & Michael Reister and Stephen & Matthew Berardi.
 
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O’Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home in Southampton. A Firematic service will be held by the Southampton Fire Depart on Thursday at 7:30 PM at the O’Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts in Southampton on Friday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow with full US Army  Military Honors at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton.
 
Donations may be made to the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts Altar Flower Fund or the Southampton Fire Department Benevolent Fund. In addition, the family would like to thank the Hampton Center for Rehabilitation for their care to George.
