Ernest F. Unger

Ernest Unger, a long-time resident of Southampton, NY, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2021. 

He was born in Barcelona, Spain and graduated from the City College of New York with a Bachelor of Engineering.  He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Donna, their children, Douglas and Vivian, and grandchildren, James and Patrick.

An accomplished aviator, weekend sailor and a gifted jack-of-all-trades, after leaving the army, he made his mark in the rising computer industry.  Traveling the country, he always returned home with unbelievable stories of adventure and those who knew him knew there was a good chance at least half of them were true.  His “Ernie-spirit” will be missed.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, October 4, 2021 at at 10:00 am at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts RC Church in Southampton, NY. Interment to follow at St. Charles RC Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
