Edythe Marie Bess Collins Gregoire Born: August 30, 1932 Died: May 31, 2020 Great great Grandparents: Charity and David Kellis Great Grandparents: Charity and Andrew Hunter Grand Parents: Cora Hunter Bess and Henry F. Bess Sr., Harriet Beaman and Joseph Whitney Parents: Edith Whitney Bess and Henry F. Bess Jr. Siblings: Elizabeth (deceased), Grace (deceased) and Frederick (Sabrina) Mother of 5 boys and 5 girls Grandmother of 10 girls and 10 boys Great grandmother of 21 boys and girls Great great Grandmother of 2 boys. Edythe loved God more than anything in the world. Her children were the dearest on earth to her. She lived a long and beautiful life, serving God and helping others whenever possible as a nurse and as a friend. Her loving advice to her descendants and Brothers and Sisters in Christ: “Stay and/or become faithful to Christ with all your heart and we will meet again on that heavenly shore.” Love, Edy (Nana) On Tuesday June 9, 2020 between 11am and 7pm all will be given an opportunity to pay last respects for Edythe at the Wildwood 7th Day Chapel located on Thunderbird Trail on the Shinnecock Reservation. A memorial service will begin at 1pm. Social distance etiquette will be observed throughout the day. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Padoquohan Medicine Lodge Inc. PO Box 5078 Southampton, NY 11969 in Edythe’s memory.
