Constance S. Schellinger Obituary

Constance ‘Connie’ Schellinger passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the age of 89 in her home surrounded by family.  Born in Southampton Hospital to Richard and Doris Simons of Amagansett; Connie is survived by her brother, Gerald (Elaine), and sister Virginia, and is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy (Walter), and brother-in-law, James.  Connie lived through some of the most challenging times the world had to offer, and through it all built a home and raised a thriving family with her loving husband, George, who passed away in 2014.

Connie is survived by four children: Thomas (Donna), Daniel, Jane (David) and Amy (Benjamin).  She was deeply loved by her eleven grandchildren, one of whom, Thomas, was waiting alongside her husband to receive her when she passed. Connie was also a cherished great-grandmother to eight.

Constance Schellinger was a valued member of the Amagansett and Southampton community; her life and the love she had for her family represented the enduring resilience and commitment of the people of the baymen’s families of Long Island.

The family would like to thank East End Hospice and O'Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home for their kindness and support during this time.  In lieu of flowers, donations to East End Hospice would be appreciated
